Reposting for the weekday crowd; I know there are a few box fans out there.
I don’t pay enough attention to Bring a Trailer to offer firm judgment, but I do not remember seeing this many boxes all at the same time on any previous visits. So much beauty to be appreciated, including a 1300 mile Canadian Sahara TJ! (CoFL, you out there?)
(There were a few pickups worthy of interest that I skipped just because there were so many vehicles and it took me over an hour to put this together as it is, plus an FJ Cruiser that meh.)

These are all excellent, aside from the occasional tacky wheels. Also, it cracks me up that all these auction sites proclaim “No Reserve” like it’s some big deal, when they know that these will all sell for a ton of money anyways, so why does it even matter?

Jeep o nly gave up on X as the base trim for Wranglers in 2009, so it stuck around for a long while.

True, but there are a few items that are still barely within my grasp. That M37 would be fun.

The market for vintage offroaders is extremely hot right now. All of these are drool worthy though. Thanks for reminding me how poor I am.

Needs more scoop....
Had an F250 Camper Special just like this, except white grille and bumpers and 4-speed manual.

I very nearly dropped the Excursion but I couldn’t deny the appeal of a comfortable land barge.

I like Excursions, this one included, except for that 6.0L time bomb. The hood scoop is massive, and seems to be over the top for something that is a bit more conservative in details. No monster lift with bead lock wheels, bulging flares, mirrored tint and obnoxious graphics. A ll very subdued except for that scoop . The current price is over the top too.

Boxy is foxy. My dad and I talk about how crazy big Ba T has become. I was introduced to it here on O ppo, and shared it with my father. Back then there were like 20 cars and some of them actually required a trailer.
By the time I actually bought a car via BaT there were more like 75 cars. Since then they have grown even faster, then the sale to Hearst added another big boost.
I have a hard time keeping track of anything besides old bimmers and 911s. I mostly stick to the no reserve auctions. I breeze over demuros site, and hemmings auctions, but I like the format/crowd at BaT. Sometimes pedantic, but really good at researching/weeding out shifty cars.

Just because they sell for a lot doesn’t mean the bid meets what the owner thinks the vehicles is worth, especially for anything restored. Plenty of stuff on BaT gets bid up to a reasonable market value but doesn’t sell because of the reserve.

I remember seeing it once or twice back when bring a trailer meant bring a flatbed trailer, preferably with winch because this heap hasn’t ran in 20 years. Now it means bring a hermetically-sealed climate-controlled carpet-lined trailer to keep princess comfortable during transport.

Well if you like the time capsule cars, check out the premium auctions. If you don’t take a look at the no reserve auctions. Might not like all of the prices on the no reserve auctions but they are in fact “market”.

Once in a great while I look at CL for classic boxy Volvo wagons. Sadly few and far between.

Yeah, I’m still fight off my Italian fever but when I see a well- kept 240 or 245? I find them very interesting in wagon form.
I did just buy an XC90 for the motor-- and hope I don’t like it so much I can’t put it under the knife.
